Hello! I am very excited (and quite flattered) to have been asked by Julie, the Lazy Green Mama, to be a monthly contributor to her blog. I thought I’d start with a little introduction of who I am and share a sneak peek at some of the topics I’ll be sharing with you in future months. Julie has asked me to be the “fitness expert” as well as the “etsy shop expert” for the LGM. Expert? Oh my. What an awesome title. That seems like quite a promotion. Though I did feel I was quite expert with that last load of laundry I just folded. And I have definitely become expert at making lunches while emptying the dishwasher and getting my kids dressed and ready and out the door all at the same time. So sure, I’ll take the new expert title bestowed upon me by LGM with pride. Maybe I need business cards for this…(I’ll consider that later.) First…what is this rambling I’m doing and why are you reading it!? Back to the point. I’m Lesley, your fitness and Etsy Expert (Lesley, FEE. I like it. The new credentials!) You’re starting to wonder why you are spending your precious time reading from the FEE and who she is!? Well, let me tell you. I’m 5’7”, I check the white/Caucasian box on forms as well as the box indicating I have earned “post graduate degrees” (I have my BA in Business Administration & Economics and my MA degree in Clinical Counseling). Oh- that’s not what you were looking for. Gotcha. The real story…. I’m a wife to my college sweet heart – we’ll celebrate our 10th anniversary as we renew our vows next month! My hubby and I actually attended college with the Lazy Green Mama herself and met her during our days on campus. I used to work professionally, full time out of the house until about 3 years ago when I became a stay at home mom for our two awesome girls ages 6 and 2. I’m the owner/designer/jack of all trades of the one woman shop Rugrat Design (or www.facebook.com/rugratdesign) and run a pretty active Etsy shop for that business. Finally, I am a coach for Team Beach Body and help to coach others toward their own health and fitness success. I run monthly challenge groups helping people to put their health & fitness back on their to-do list and get healthy, happy & in shape so they can reach their goals. As part of this, I run a facebook page, Crossing Over to a Balanced Life (www.facebook.com/crossingovertobalance), focused on finding life’s balance related to health, parenting, fitness, household, life, etc. I try to throw in some humor as well because frankly- life is pretty boring without it. To recap who I am….I basically am a person who has accepted that I don’t sit well and apparently thrive on balancing plates. But despite the organized chaos and busy calendar I have chosen to call my reality, I am happy and want to help others to find whatever it is that brings them a balanced, healthy, happy life. I am excited to be contributing to the LGM blog and look forward to sharing with you fitness tips, program ideas, Etsy shop details, small business promotional ideas and ways that you can make the most of your days! TELL ME: What's your greatest hurdle in meeting your fitness goals? Make it a great day, Lesley, FEE |
Recently, I had the BRILLIANT (ahem) idea to invite a few of my go-to experts to join LGM so that we can all benefit from their expertise! Leslie, who you'll meet below, has the gift of inspiring me to exercise in a totally uplifting way. I didn't think that was possible! She also runs a VERY successful Etsy business which is something I think many of us aspire to. Feel free to ask her lots of questions in the comments and look for more from her in the near future!
